Hundreds attend archaeological find
THE discovery of the remains of a Second Century Roman roundhouse has attracted a huge amount of public interest with more than 500 people attending an open day at the Poulton site.
The archaeological find – one of the most unusual in Lancashire for years – was uncovered at the start of a major sewer improvement scheme by United Utilities.

A team of 10 archaeologists, from Oxford Archaeology, and specialist consultants for United Utilities are still working at the site off Garstang Road East.
Archaeologist Alison Plummer said: "People came from as far away as Warrington to the open day.
"We are delighted there has been such a lot of genuine public interest."
