BLACKPOOL'S coolest show is back.
Hot Ice will return to the Pleasure Beach for the summer season after the Ice Arena was left in darkness for much of last year.
The fun park has revived its famous show in a move guaranteed to delight the UK's ever-growing army of ice fans.
It had been feared the popular show – axed last year – would not return.
Pleasure Beach managing director Amanda Thompson, who will be
directing the show, said: "This will be a divinely spectacular show."
The news has thrilled tourism chiefs and fans of the show which was put on ice while the Arena was refurbished.
Top skater Dan Whiston, who skated with Hot Ice for 11 years and stars in ITV's Dancing On Ice, said: "This is absolutely fantastic news. Blackpool will welcome it with open arms.
"The show has been there for more than 60 years and was sorely missed last year. It's not only spectacular but offers role models, inspiration for young people."
Last year was the first the Arena had not had an ice spectacular since regular season shows started in 1937.
Guests have ranged from Sir Winston Churchill to Torvill and Dean.
Helen France, executive director of tourism and regeneration, added: "It is fabulous, absolutely fantastic news. Amanda Thompson does these shows so well.
"It is a really high quality event in the resort and sends out such a positive message about Blackpool Pleasure Beach's commitment to Blackpool, which is brilliant."
