Hope for crash pillion rider

A MOTORCYCLE passenger left fighting for his life has been taken off the critical list.

Scott Lomax, 29, received emergency treatment and was in a critical condition at Blackpool Victoria Hospital after the black Yamaha R6 he was on the back of hit a parked car.

However, Mr Lomax's condition improved over the weekend. A police spokesman said: "His condition is now described as comfortable."

The incident occurred just before 11pm on Friday at the junction of Highfield Road and Southworth Avenue, South Shore.

Mr Lomax sustained a head injury and internal bleeding after damaging his pelvis.

Lee Michael O'Neil, 26, who was driving the Yamaha, suffered a foot injury and has since been released from hospital.

Investigations into the cause of the incident are ongoing and police are appealing for witnesses.

Anyone with information can contact Blackpool Police on (01253) 293933.
