Ghosts, ghouls and spectres at other venues on the Fylde

ONE caretaker at the Marine Hall in Fleetwood has taken his dedication to his job to the extreme.

The ghost of a former caretaker who died on site is said to haunt the premises to make sure everyone leaves the building at night.

Anne Shipway, waterfront co-ordinator at the Marine Hall on the Esplanade, claims to have seen a figure walking through walls.

She said: "I saw a middle aged man in a white shirt. He went into an entrance on the stage but it's a dead end.

So I followed him to let him know there was no access but he'd gone. He'd walked through the wall. It was a bit spooky. "

Anne – pictured at the spot where she saw the figure – added: "There is a theory that a former caretaker who died here makes sure that everything is locked up and everybody is out of the building.

"We've done an all night vigil with mediums and physics told us he was called 'Old Bill' or 'Old Will'. They felt his presence. He is part of the building now. We don't feel threatened, it's quite nice having him around. He's one of us."
