Fylde duo spending Christmas with TV nan

CHRISTMAS just wouldn't be the same without an old granny hurling abuse at her loving relatives.

Cue Joannie 'Nan' Taylor – the famous foul-mouthed character from The Catherine Tate Show – who is about to see the error of her ways thanks to the help of two Fylde coast children.

Megan Winnard, 10, and Owen Salthouse, nine, will star in Christmas BBC show Nan's Christmas Carol alongside award-winning comic actress Catherine Tate and Dr Who star David Tennant.

The programme will reveal how Nan's insults catch up with her as she is visited by the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future in a comic retelling of Dickens' A Christmas Carol.

Debut

His television debut is the best festive present Owen – who will play Ashley Cratchit – could have wished for.

The Larkholme Primary pupil, from Fleetwood, who attends Scream Theatre School in Blackpool with Megan, said: "It'll be spooky to see myself on television. It was so good."
