Festival fun hits Blackpool streets

Join in the Showzam! fun in Blackpool town centre today.

Heat The Streets is the name of a spectacular event which will see several central locations dressed with fire and light installations, this afternoon and tonight – and its free for all to enjoy!

The stunning finale is the 13 metre Tower of Fire in Central Car Park, where performers, whirling dervishes, buckets of fire and waterfalls are set to a soundtrack, punctuated with 8m-high dancing flames (8pm).

The other locations and times are:

St John's Precinct, Church Street: Le Jardin Flambee – Hot-fingered gardeners tend to their fiery flora as they take you through the seasonal changes of their garden. Performances: 4.45pm, 5.45pm and 6.45pm.

Adelphi Street: Hammer and Tongs - Framed with flames, The Blacksmith heats up the night, sending sparks high up into the night sky, 4.45pm, 5.45pm and 6.45pm.

Winter Gardens, Victoria Street: Great Balls of Fire – Giant 5m balls of fire dance on the arched roof of the Winter Gardens and create stunning patterns against the night sky. 4pm and 7.30pm.

Adelaide Street West: Blaizin' Glazin – Diane manipulates the bubbling hot glass into stunning shapes and patterns and see the world's only musical milk float. 4.30pm, 5.45pm and 7pm.

Bank Hey Street Bridge: Disco Inferno – Fire roars, spits and even sings as the pyrophones perform their magicaldance from the footbridge. 4.30pm-8pm.

Temple Street Car Park: Temple of Fire – Fire performances from FlameOz, Cirq-U, Manchester Company of Extreme Largeness and Danny Zaparelli and his flaming gyroscope. 4.30pm-7.15pm.
