Explosives 'kept at hotel' charge

A MAN accused of storing explosives on the forecourt of a Blackpool hotel has had the first hearing of his case at court.

Akram was not present at the court hearing.

The case, brought by Blackpool Council under the Health and Safety at Work Act, was adjourned to March 24 by Blackpool magistrates.

Javed Akram, 31, of Croftleigh Close, Whitefield, Manchester, is alleged to have stored the explosives, in the form of fireworks, on the forecourt of the Bowness Hotel, on Blackpool Promenade.
