Drunk threats made to wife

A MAN has admitted making malicious phone calls to his own wife.

Andrew Rye, of Montrose Avenue, Blackpool, made a series of calls after he had been drinking.

His wife had left him and had gone to her daughter's home after a row over the last bottle of alcohol.

Rye made threats to his wife via his mobile phone.

She called the police who listened to one of the calls on the phone's loudspeaker. They arrested Rye who said he could not remember.

Rye was given a conditional discharge for 18 months.
