Driver cut from truck after crash

A TRUCK driver had to be cut from his cab after a collision with another vehicle in Blackpool.

The 55-year-old driver was apparently unhurt in the accident, at around 10am on Preston New Road near Little Marton Windmill, but suffered a seized back after returning to his cab.

Fire crews and ambulance staff worked together to free him from the vehicle and take him to Blackpool Victoria Hospital for treatment.

The road remained open throughout.
