Dad, 58, punched his wife
A FATHER-OF-FOUR repeatedly punched his wife in front of one of their young children.
Gary Porter, 58, of Garstang Road, Wesham, pleaded guilty to assaulting his estranged wife, Amy, by punching her in the face.
Mrs Porter suffered bruising and swelling to her face, as well as a chipped tooth, after Parker visited his wife's address at 10am on July 6.
Parker was put on a 12-month restraining order, banning him from contacting his wife – except through a solicitor in regard to the children.
Claire Hilton, prosecuting, said the couple were divorcing, and Parker asked if he could take their one-year-old daughter home with him. His wife refused because she believed he had been drinking.
David Charnley, defending, said Parker was the site manager for a construction company until the breakdown of his marriage.
He went into a detoxification unit and succeeded in beating the booze, but on the day he left the unit his wife dumped him. He then started drinking again.
He was ordered to pay his wife 100 compensation and given 12 months' supervision by Blackpool magistrates.
