Council: We take a week to reply
FYLDE Council claims it is providing residents with responses to freedom of information requests within a week.
The authority, which is given 20 working days to supply requested details, is currently taking just seven days to meet the target.
Ian Curtis, head of legal services at the council, said: "We get a wide range of requests from local residents, businesses and the press. Sometimes we can answer straight away, and if we can, we do.
Openness
"In the last two years, we have answered well over a third of requests within one working day of them being made."
Coun Sue Fazackerley, cabinet member for corporate performance and development, added: "Fylde's performance in dealing with information requests must be among the best in the country and reflects the council's commitment to openness and transparency."
