Congratulations as Doris reaches 100
SHE may be 100, but she's a Young One at heart.
Doris Clark's dreams came true as the music of Cliff Richard was on hand to help her celebrate her special day.
The visit was just one highlight of a three-day extravaganza, which saw the energetic birthday girl go bowling, chat over coffee at her local church, and have a family party at the Acorn Nursing Home.
The former gymnast, who still enjoys a spot of Crown Green bowling, said: "I had such a wonderful three days.
"Everyone was absolutely lovely and pulled out all the stops.
"I got my card from the Queen and she looked beautiful.
"I went to the women's bowling club in Layton with my friends from the club, but the best part was when Cliff came to see me – I've been a fan for years."
Cliff, aka Jimmy Jermaine, came to the residential home on Newton Drive, central Blackpool.
Doris said the secret of long life is to keep occupied.
She added: "You need to keep going. I keep myself busy all the time, by going bowling, and going to Springfield Church. I even had a dance when my son's wives came to visit me on Friday."
Diane Buckley, manager of the home, said: "Doris is one of the best, she cheers us all up and keeps active all the time."
