Computer seized in drugs raids

DRUGS raids have been carried out in St Annes as part of an operation to target dealers and users on the Fylde.

On Monday, police launched the operation by inviting The Gazette along on drugs raids in Grange Park and Layton.

And yesterday they followed up by smashing down doors in St Annes, executing a drugs warrant on Commonside.

A suspected stolen laptop, was seized from the property but no drugs were found.

The raids on Horsebridge Road and Chelford Avenue, Grange Park saw quantities of what is thought to be cannabis and amphetamines found.

Trading standards officers also seized a laptop and computer at the house on Horsebridge Road, which is suspected to be part of an illegal DVD copying operation.

* Daniel McManus, 33, from Chelford Avenue, Layton has been charged with possession of a class B drug (cannabis) and has been bailed to appear at Blackpool Magistrates Court on Friday.
