A Wyre tourism centre has been named as a finalist in a prestigious competition.
Visit Garstang will contest the Visitor Information Provider of the Year category at the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence 2014, in May.
Staff from the information centre, on Cherestanc Square, will attend the glittering awards ceremony on Monday, May 12, at Cheltenham Racecourse.
Coun Lynne Bowen, cabinet member with responsibility for tourism at Wyre Council, said: “The centre has won a number of awards at the Lancashire Tourism Awards and been praised for the welcoming and knowledgeable staff who greet visitors to the area and help them make the most of their trip.
“I’m extremely proud that the service is now receiving well deserved recognition at national level.”
