Canatxx to submit revised proposals

ANOTHER battle between Wyre residents and energy company Canatxx could loom again.

The American gas is planning to submit a revised application for the controversial scheme on land near to the River Wyre in the near future.

The news comes just eight months after the Government rejected the company's plans to store more than one million tonnes of natural gas in hollowed out salt caverns at Preesall.

A Canatxx spokesman said this week there were plans to submit a revised application and that it would be made as soon as possible.

Wyre MP Ben Wallace said: "Canatxx have a lot to do before they can submit a new application.

“But no matter what they do I shall fight with the community to protect Over Wyre and the environment.

“If they do submit another application, we will face them head on again and again until they get the message."

More than 11,000 Wyre residents signed a petition against Canatxx's original plans.
