Cafe meal breached diner's Asbo

A MAN breached his Anti Social Behaviour Order by eating food at a Blackpool café – without first paying for it.

Alan Brown, 49, of no fixed address, who said his mail was sent to Blackpool's Salvation Army hostel, pleaded guilty to failing to comply with a condition of his Asbo.

The court was told Brown had been put on an Asbo at Preston Magistrates' Court on March 29 last year, which banned him from eating in at any eating establishment in the country without paying for his food in advance.

Brown denied dishonestly obtaining a meal for 8.79p from Bumbles Eating House, Waterloo Road on Sunday.

He was bailed to June 8 for trial on the charge of dishonestly obtaining a meal by District Judge Jeff Brailsford sitting at Blackpool Magistrates' Court.

Brown will be sentenced for breaching his Asbo after the trial.
