Parts of Poulton were left without electricity because of an underground cable fault.
Around 90 homes and businesses suffered a power cut at around 10pm on Friday night, though Electricity North West says power was restored to half of them in the early hours of Saturday morning.
A spokesman said problems persisted throughout Saturday but by late afternoon all customers were being supplied electricity through a generator.
He added: “Engineers will return on Sunday to make a permanent repair to the supply.
“We apologise to all customers affected by this fault.”
