Bungling raider lost in bookies
POLICE are hunting a blundering robber who held up a bookmakers only to be told there was no money.
The incident took place at William Hill in Lytham when the masked raider went into the shop and handed over a note demanding cash.
Staff told him they had locked up the cash for the night and showed him the empty till.
"You're joking," he replied. "can I have my note back?"
Staff handed him the piece of paper back and he fled the store before making off on his bicycle.
Police are now appealing for help in catching the bungling thief who struck at 9.55pm last Friday.
The man is described as around 40-years-old, 5ft 10in and slim build.
He was wearing a black balaclava, a scarf over his lower face and a dark green, knee-length jacket.
He is believed to have made off on a mountain bike.
