Blackpool ice stars survive fall drama

FYLDE favourites Dan Whiston and Hayley Tamaddon skated through another week of Dancing on Ice.

The golden couple looked under threat at one point after taking a stumble coming out of a lift and both falling onto the ice.

But the judges on ITV show still gave them a total of 21 for their routine to Lady Gaga's Just Dance.

Dan, from Poulton, said the fall was his fault after he tripped and praised Hayley, from Bispham, for carrying on.

The pair did manage to pull off the dangerous 'headbanger' lift successfully to impress the judges and studio audience.

Judge Karen Barber said: "I had to take a 0.5 point off my marking for the fall, but for me there was so much that was good about it.

"The tricks were fantastic."

Head judge Robin Cousins said the pair - dubbed Team Blackpool - had performed a 'sensational' routine.

Paul McCartney's ex-wife Heather Mills was voted out the competition by the judges after the skate-off against Hollyoaks' Kieron Richardson.
