Bingo club staff jump on charity skydive

BINGO club staff will be flying high next month to raise money for charity.

Mike Travis and Paul Kay from Mecca Bingo, on Talbot Road, Blackpool, will perform a sponsored skydive to raise money for the national children's mobility charity, Whizz-Kidz.

Mr Travis said: "We've been holding a number of fund raising events over the past months and this is probably one of the most exciting and certainly the most nerve-racking.

"Colleagues, club members, friends and family have all been extremely generous so far with their donations.

"However, I urge anyone who hasn't donated to dig deep, after all it's not everyday we offer to throw ourselves out of a plane."

Their jump is just one of many that Mecca team members from around the country will take part in simultaneously at different airfields – to raise cash for the company's nominated charity for 2008.

Mecca has the overall aim of raising 250,000 nationally this year.
