MUM’S the word at one Blackpool primary school, where the football team is dressed for success thanks to parent power.
The team at Christ the King Catholic Primary in Bathurst Avenue admitted their team strip was beginning to look the worse for wear.
Parent Lisa Lambshead agreed and kindly donated a new one.
Lisa knows her football – she is a volunteer coach for the school’s girls’ and boys’ team and plays for Blackpool Ladies FC.
Headteacher Sue Smith said: “Our previous kit was made up of bits and pieces of old ones, so they will look superb in the new one. Lisa is a real gem!”
The football-crazy pupils at Christ the King are also hoping to cheer the Seasiders back into the Premier League.
They had a special Tangerine Day last week, when the pupils wore Pool gear ahead of the first play-off match against Birmingham.
They brought the side luck last Friday, so here’s hoping they can do so again for tonight’s rematch.
