Lifeboat called out as woman seen in sea
Two inshore lifeboat vessels were immediately launched after the call at 2.20am.
When the boats reached the area they were concerned after finding an empty lifebelt floating in the water.

Hide AdBut within ten minutes of the call, the crews were informed the woman was safe and well on the shore.
Paul Parton, deputy launching authority for Blackpool Lifeboat, said: “A message came in over the radio to say the woman was out of the water and we immediately stood down.
“We are not sure at this stage how the woman managed to get back to shore.
“Fortunately, the weather was kindly otherwise things could have been very different.”
