A Marton mum-of-three who trained for a career change to follow her heart has won three bronze awards from a top industry body.
Hayley Edge, who recently opened her own photography studio at her home, scooped the top honours from the Guild of Photographers.
Hayley, who has run her photography business, Hayley Edge Photography, for four years, specialises in children and family portraits, weddings, newborn babies and commercial work, on a 100 per cent referral basis.
In the past, she worked in children’s nurseries and ran her own child-minding business from home. But as her two eldest children – Abigail, now 11 and Finlay, now eight – got older, she decided to fulfil a lifelong ambition and re-train as a photographer. She did her degree at Blackpool and The Fylde College.
Hayley – whose youngest daughter Emilia Rose, is just coming up to two – said: “During my time studying for my degree at Blackpool and The Fylde College, I used the opportunity to work for other photographers in my spare time and also trained with some very successful and talented photographers and learnt as much as I possibly could along the way, to develop my own style.
“My three children are my inspiration, I love capturing natural portraits and lifestyle images, real-life emotions.
“I was over the moon to have been awarded three bronze awards from a governing body which has such high standards.
“Choosing images from your own work is really difficult and really makes you look at your work critically. When I look through my camera, I try to think about composition, facial expressions, colours and light.”
