Spring is in the air at Fairhaven Lake with the launch of a new event to appreciate nature’s leaves.
The Lovely Leaves trail is being run by the RSPB Ribble Discovery Centre throughout the spring for children to get closer to nature and to find out just what’s out there
And lots of families have been keen to get outside, whatever the weather over the last week.
Claire Critchley, from the RSPB Ribble Discovery Centre at Fairhaven Lake, said: “It’s our new seasonal trail which runs throughout spring.
“Children have been enjoying getting up close with nature and taking home some beautiful collages.
“Families just need to come into the centre anytime between 10am and 3pm, pick up a collage card and go and explore.
“The idea is to go around the lake to look for as many different shapes and colours of leaves to take a tiny piece and stick onto their collage.
“The end product being a piece of art for the family to cherish at home.”
It costs £1 per collage and there is no time restriction to complete it so families can enjoy the experience at their own pace.
The Lovely Leaves trail is running on regular dates until Friday, May 26.
