A learner driver motored home in his wife’s Motability car when he was over the limit.
Michael Turner was stopped after police received an anonymous tip-off he was driving after being in a pub.
Turner, 49, of Dean Street, South Shore, pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol without insurance or a licence.
He was banned from the road for 14 months and fined £125 with £85 costs plus £20 victims’ surcharge by Blackpool magistrates.
Pam Smith, prosecuting, said police stopped Turner driving his wife’s Motability Peugeot on Dean Street on April 14 at 10.25pm. A breath test showed 59 micrograms of alcohol in his body - 35 is the limit.
Paul Robinson, defending, said it appeared someone had phoned the police to say Turner had been in the Auctioneer pub.
