A man ended up in the dock after police were called to his home to sort out a row over a washing machine temperature setting.
Christian Sykes, 33, of Watson Road, Blackpool admitted breaching the peace.
He was bound over for a year in the sum of £100 by District Judge Jeff Brailsford, sitting at Blackpool Magistrates Court, who told him: “It is astonishing you should end up in custody for this.
“Don’t let it happen again.”
Pam Smith, prosecuting, said: “There had been a row over the temperature setting on the washing machine. It got heated, and Sykes ended up pulling a door off its hinges.
“When he refused a police request to leave the home and calm down, he was arrested.”
Sykes had nothing to say in court.
