A 16-year-old boy has been bailed in connection with a major fire at a Fleetwood warehouse.

The building on Jameson Road, which contained 3,000 tonnes of baled plastic waste, went up in flames at around 6.40pm last night.

A 16-year-old boy from the Fleetwood area appeared this morning at Blackpool police station volunteering information about the fire.

He was subsequently arrested and was questioned throughout the day by the police before being bailed pending further enquiries.

The fire at Jameson Road continues to burn in a controlled manner, with fire crews maintaining a presence at the scene.
