Late night bedroom fire at Thornton bungalow

A Thornton resident was treated for the effects of inhaling smoke after a blaze at a bungalow last night.

Fire crews from Bispham and Fleetwood joined paramedics in Belvedere Road at around 10.34pm but the fire, in the ground floor bedroom, was already out by the time they arrived, a spokesman for the Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service (LFRS) said.

The occupant did not need to go to hospital, he added.

An investigation has now been launched to determine what started the fire.
