RESCUERS pulled a kitesurfer out of the water after he was spotted by a keen-eyed dog walker.
The incident happened as the man was surfing in the Ribble Estuary off St Annes at 2.15pm yesterday.
The man, from Yorkshire, had been out most of the day but was struggling to stay afloat and began signalling to the shore.
The dog walker made a note of his position and rang 999 from where the Coastguard requested Lytham Inshore Lifeboat be launched.
Helmsman Simon Turpie said: “It was quite difficult as the sun was low making it difficult to see properly. Luckily the position given was spot on and we found the casualty straight away.”
The crew recovered the man and his gear and he was checked over by a waiting ambulance crew.
