Kind-hearted villagers have been thanked for helping to supply life-saving equipment.

Residents in Staining donate throughout the year at the village’s Co-Op store by giving money at charity events, with more than £1,000 raised in 2014.

Last year’s store manager Chris Kemp decided the money should be shared between the Normoss and Staining Gala, 1st Staining Scout Fund-raising Committee and the parish council for a second defibrillator which will be fitted to the outside wall of the Co-op store in Chain Lane.

New store manager Stuart Cook added: “I hope we can continue in 2015 with the same support from everyone.

“We will be raising money for 1st Staining Rainbows,Brownies and Guides.”
