Members of the public are being invited to drink coffee with the mayoress to raise money for YMCA Fylde Coast’s housing and support services

Valerie Eastham is inviting people to a town hall coffee morning between 10am and 11.30am on Wednesday, November 26, with proceeds going to the YMCA, one of this year’s mayoral charities.

YMCA was first established on the Fylde coast in St Annes in 1922 as a place for young men to socialise following the end of the First World War.

Today, the charity helps the lives of individuals, families and communities, across the North West, through the provision of physical activity, housing, outdoor education and young people’s programmes, services and facilities.

Money raised will go to the YMCA’s work in providing accommodation and housing support services to local people and families on Fylde coast.

The YMCA is donating a three-month Gold Membership to use in all its health and fitness facilities inside the centres on St Albans Road, the swimming pool on South Promenade, Mythop Road in Lytham and Kirkham.

Tickets cost £2 and can be purchased on the door, from Jo Collins, mayoral secretary at the Town Hall and from the YMCA on St Alban’s Road, St Annes.
