It’s panto time – oh, yes it is!

PANTOMIME dames are preparing to pull on their bloomers as another festive season sees theatres burst into life.

The greasepaint and vibrant coloured costumes are on stand-by and already venues around the Fylde Coast have a seasonal buzz of excitement.

And this year families will be spoilt for choice with pantomimes popping up right along the coast.

Blackpool Circus will mix panto with the world of clowns and wizards as part of their festive offering.

Mooky’s Off to See The Wizard is showing at Blackpool Tower now and will run until January 22.

Blackpool’s Grand Theatre will give families plenty of opportunity to boo and hiss. Evil queen Vicky Entwistle will takes to the stage in Snow White between Friday December 2 and Monday January 2.

Jack and the Beanstalk has shot up in popularity this year with productions scheduled at both Lowther Pavilion in Lytham and Thornton Little Theatre.

Pendle productions will stage the Lytham show between December 12 and 13. Thornton’s show is directed by Tom Bright and will run December 19 to 24, December 26 to 31 and January 3 to 6.

Amateur groups are also preparing for panto action. Our Lady Star Of The Sea Operatic Society are performing Sleeping Beauty at the parish centre on Kenilworth Road, St Annes from December 1 to 3.

Trinity Theatre Group is preparing to bring Dick Whittington on to stage at Holy Trinity Church, Dean Street, South Shore. It will run November 29, 30 and December 2 and 3.

Garstang Theatre Group will perform Snow White at Garstang High School from November 30 until December 3.
