Investigation underway following Blackpool flat fire

One casualty was treated for smoke inhalation following a flat fire in Blackpool.

Four fire engines from Blackpool, Bispham and South Shore rushed to tackle a blaze involving a top floor flat in Rodwell Walk shortly before 5pm today (October 21).

Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus used one hose reel jet and a ventilation unit to extinguish the flames.

One casualty, reportedly a woman, received first aid treatment following the incident.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service have now confirmed an investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
