A seafront hotel has won a planning battle for permission for an extension to the property.
Blackpool Council had refused permission for the scheme at the New Mayfair Hotel on New South Promenade.
But following an appeal, a planning inspector has over-turned the decision and said it should be allowed.
However the inspector has ruled the extension is re-clad in a colour that matches the main building.
A report to Blackpool’s planning committee said the inspector noted many hotels in the area had been extended.
Many properties were “in various stages of disrepair and dereliction and the appeal property stands out due to its refurbished condition.”
