These Blackpool school children are well on their way to filling up the first jars of The Gazette’s JAM JAR ARMY.

Ever since hearing about our Hospice Heroes campaign, pupils at Mereside Primary School have been busy cleaning out their old jam jars and filling them with pennies and small change ready for us to pass on to Trinity Hospice and Brian House.

Mereside headteacher Sue Diver said: “Our children always like to be involved in helping other children.

“This is one easy way that they can help, and they are all looking forward to collecting their pennies in their jars for The Gazette’s Hospice Heroes campaign.”

All children across Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre can join our JAM JAR ARMY – and the more we have, the better.

And it couldn’t be easier to join.

Simply get a jam jar, eat the yummy contents, wash it out and start saving pennies for Hospice Heroes.

When your jar’s full, send it and its contents to Blackpool Gazette, Avroe House, Avroe Crescent, Blackpool Business Park, Blackpool, FY4 2DP.

Make sure you put your name, age and the town you live in on it, and we’ll make sure you get a mention in The Gazette.

All your donations will mean such a lot for the future of Trinity and Brian House so please get collecting.

Any schools wishing to take part can download a JAM JAR ARMY poster here.
