SOME real superheroes were celebrated as part of Children’s Hospice Week.

Brian House Children’s Hospice joined in the week of events, which also saw local schools and business take part.

The week raised awareness of children’s hospices, as well as trying to raise cash to support them. Last year’s event raised £4,000 for Brian House.

Schools got busy collecting pennies which were handed over to staff at the Bispham-based hospice.

And some also took part on dressing-up for Superhero Day to mark the end of the week.

Children from Brian House dressed up as their favourites – including Superman, footballers and Super Mum.

The fundraising team from Trinity dressed up as the Incredibles team.

Lisa Martin, community fundraiser, said: “We are so proud of everyone who has supported this year’s event.

“We have been overwhelmed by everyone’s creativity and generosity to this year’s appeal.

“It was lovely going out to the schools on the Friday to see what they had all being doing.

“On behalf of everyone at Brian House, thank you to everyone who has been involved, you are our superheroes.”
