Historic Blackpool pub granted protection from developers
The Blue Room in Church Street has been designated an asset of community value following an application by the resort’s Civic Trust.
The pub, as the Stanley Arms, is where Blackpool Football Club was founded.

Hide AdThe Civic Trust, in its application, also highlighted the role the venue had played in Blackpool’s live music scene.
An is land or property of importance to a local community which is subject to additional protection from development under the Localism Act 2011.
The status makes it much harder for the site to be redeveloped for any other purpose.
The pub is currently closed.
