BUSINESSES in Kirkham horrified by the discovery of a baby boy’s body are asking their customers to make sure his death doesn’t go unmarked.

They want to raise enough cash to hold a funeral for the child and six shops – including SilverDell and Pink Tree Parties, on Poulton Street – now have collection tins on the counter for people to donate to the fund.

The town council has already received offers of help from funeral directors.

The full-term baby boy was found by walkers in Spen Brook on Saturday, October 1, and his family have yet to be traced.
