Some 400 unemployed people across the Fylde coast will take part in a programme aimed at helping them be more motivated and confident about finding work.

Jobtrain is now in its fourth week.

The first set of programmes have been a great success with participants getting a lot out of the course and acknowledging they feel more confident

David Leadbetter from Jobtrain said: “The first set of programmes have been a great success with participants getting a lot out of the course and acknowledging they feel more confident.”

There will be 32 programmes held at the YMCAs in St Annes and Fleetwood. Jobcentre Plus claimants are referred by their work coaches to an initial interview, and then they are booked on to a course.

The employment scheme is being managed on the Fylde coast, for the Department of Work and Pensions, by Inspira and Career Connect.
