The Fylde Coast’s hospice is set to make Money, Money, Money when the stage hit Mamma Mia! comes to town.
Trinity Hospice has been offered support by the cast and company of the show as it prepares for its run at Blackpool’s Opera House later this month.
Plans are being made for some of the cast members to visit Trinity, on Low Moor Road, Bispham, while they are in town as part of their international tour.
A collection will also be made during the show’s gala night on June 24.
David Houston, Trinity Hospice Chief Executive said: “Mamma Mia! is such a feel-good show and will be a huge attraction in the town this summer season.
“Tickets have been selling fast and to have the support of the cast and tour company is just fantastic – we are really overwhelmed by their enthusiasm. I’m hoping to be able to welcome some cast members to the Hospice, when they will get the chance to tour some of our brand new facilities, and see just how their help can make a difference to us as we strive to raise the £5m in voluntary donations we need every year.
“On behalf of everyone at Trinity and Brian House, I want to say a very heartfelt thank you to the Mamma Mia International Tour company, and wish them all the best for a fantastic season in Blackpool.”
The tour’s UK summer season starts on June 20, and was originally due to run until the end of August but, due to a huge demand for tickets, the season has now been extended by two weeks.
Blackpool is the only UK venue outside of London to host the worldwide hit musical this year.
The Gazette is in the final stages of its campaign to raise £200,000 for Trinity Hospice and Brian House children’s hospice, which are undergoing a massive refurbishment to make them fit for the future.
Thanks to our supporters, we have raised a fantastic £161,743.
