The Fylde coast was bathed in a pink glow thanks to Blackpool Tower’s bid to raise awareness of a vital charity fund-raiser.
The attraction joined forces with Cancer Research UK to light up pink in support of the 2013 Race For Life.
Organisers of the 5km fund-raiser hope that seeing the Tower glowing stunning pink will prompt hundreds of women to sign up to this year’s race, to take place along the Promenade on July 10.
Joanne Doughty, from Cancer Research UK, said: “It was amazing to see the Tower light up and to know the message is out there is great.
“Any coverage like that we always get an uplift in numbers.
“We’re so grateful to Blackpool Tower, it’s great to have their support.”
Race For Life Blackpool event manager Liz Booth said: “Race for Life is non-competitive, taking part is about joining together against a disease that affects all of us.”
Participants are invited to dress up in pink or fancy dress to walk, jog or run the route which is along the Promenade for the second time this year.
Race for Life Blackpool event manager Liz Booth said the race is non-competitive.
