Residents can find out more about the upcoming closure of Yeadon Way at area forum meetings starting tonight.
Motorists will be diverted from the M55 onto Progress Way, Squires Gate Lane, Lytham Road and Waterloo Road.
A team from the council’s highways department will be attending each of the seven forums during October to answer questions and discuss the proposed diversion route.
Yeadon Way will be closed from Monday November 10 until March next year for essential repairs.
Coun John Jones, cabinet member for highways said: “It is predicted the work will take five months to complete so our intention is to re-open the road in time for the Easter holidays.
“There is never a good time to close a main road for this duration but hopefully we have done it when it will cause the least inconvenience.”
People will also be able to discuss proposals to make changes to the traffic flow on Coronation Street between Hornby Road and Adelaide Stree,t and Hornby Road between Park Road and Coronation Street.
The first area forum is Sandhurst which meets tonight at 6.30pm at the Norbreck Castle Hotel.
