Blackpool FC boss Jose Riga has been named as the town’s new ambassador to promote sport and fitness.
Physical activity is one of the four Tangerine Targets of Altogether Now, which works with sports clubs to encourage health improvements in the town.
Each target has a high-profile health ambassador from the world of sport to help improve the lives of the community.
Alongside Jose, the others are paralympian Shelly Woods who is health ambassador for lifestyle, Lancashire County cricketer Steven Croft who is health ambassador for childhood health and football legend Jimmy Armfield CBE who is health ambassador for mental health and wellbeing
Blackpool FC is a long-time supporter of Altogether Now, and this season’s squad members are Altogether Now Health Champions, helping to spread the word about the programme.
