A Blackpool hockey team has kicked-off Cancer Research UK’s latest fundraising campaign, Dryathlon, which asks people to banish the booze throughout January.

Blackpool Men’s Hockey Club is urging people to swap pint glasses for tea cups to net funds for Cancer Research UK’s life-saving research.

‘Dryathletes’ pledge to drop drink for a month and either get sponsored or donate the money they would have spent on alcohol.
