A LYTHAM woman fighting for tighter cosmetic surgery regulations following the death of her mother has launched a petition.
Rheagan Hendry – daughter of Scottish international footballer and former Blackpool manager Colin Hendry – is calling for the government to introduce tighter regulations on voluntary cosmetic surgery.
She’s launched an online petition – and needs to get 100,000 signatures over the next year to ensure MPs debate the issue in the House of Commons.
Miss Hendry’s mum, Denise, died after years of complications following a botched liposuction operation at a Preston clinic.
Since then Miss Hendry, 22, has started The Denise Hendry Foundation, founded in her mother’s memory, which aims to help those who have suffered from medical negligence.
She is promoting her cosmetic surgery campaign through her Keep It Real Campaign and the Miss Natural UK beauty pageant 2012, which aim to promote a healthy lifestyle and attitude to body image.
