Sporting stars, including Blackpool FC players, are getting behind a new drive to help improve public health in Blackpool.
Boxer Brian Rose is among those lending their support to a new scheme from Blackpool Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) to raise the resort’s life expectancy figures.
The Altogether Now initiative aims to improve health and lifestyle in Blackpool and has been launched to
coincide with National Men’s Health Week, which starts on Monday, as the resort has the lowest male life expectancy in England.
Rose said: “If I can inspire or encourage more men in Blackpool to be aware of their health and make
conscious decisions to lead a better lifestyle then that is brilliant. I am proud to be involved with this fantastic programme and hope that more men begin to realise the importance of their own health and wellbeing.”
