A top Blackpool nurse has spoken at a national meeting about enhancing the regulation of nurses and midwives and improving public safety.

Paul Jebb, assistant director for nursing (patient experience) with Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust attended the inaugural meeting of the Nursing and Midwifery Council’s (NMC’s) Professional Strategic Advisory Group, set up to engage with senior nurses and midwives, share insights and information and advise the NMC’s executive team.

Paul said: “I had been discussing issues with Jackie Smith, the NMC Chief Executive and Registrar, and highlighted some work we had been doing here in Blackpool and she invited me to become part of the group.

“It’s a real honour to be able to influence people at that level and enhance the regulatory function of the NMC.”
