Close to a hundred people worked up a sweat to help raise money for Trinity Hospice.

A fitness day - featuring the launch of the latest releases of Les Mills exercise classes - was held at Velocity Health and Fitness, at De Vere Village Heron’s Reach, Blackpool.

Teams of instructors from the club and across the local area were joined by Les Mills national trainer Carl McCartney and Tracy Sollitt, national fitness manager at De Vere Village Urban Resorts.

The event - which was open to everyone - included BodyPump, RPM, GRIT, BodyAttack, BodyCombat, CX Worx and BodyBalance classes.

Those taking part donated money which will go to the Hospice Heroes Appeal. The total has not yet been counted, but is expected to run into several hundred pounds.

The idea behind the event was to inspire people to get fit in the New Year and to try new activities, as well as raising much-needed funds for Trinity.

Sean Holman, group fitness manager, said: “It was a great day. Fantastic to see so many Velocity Health and Fitness members, their friends and family and guests from other clubs in the area coming together to workout, try something new and raise money for a special charity close to many of our hearts.

“Everyone enjoyed the day, the atmosphere was awesome.

“The work Trinity does in this area is vital and we are very happy and proud to support them.”
