Government inspectors will visit Blackpool Victoria Hospital today.
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) is changing the way health facility inspections are carried out, featuring larger teams led by clinical experts and which include trained members of the public.
A listening event has also been planned for today, where people are urged to share their views of Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
It will take place at Blackpool Football Club at 6.30pm.
The inspection team is expected to look in detail at eight key services areas including A&E, maternity, paediatrics, care for the frail elderly, end of life care and outpatients.
