A Fylde coast care service is throwing its weight behind a national dementia awareness campaign.

Caring Hands, which has an office in Lytham, offers personal, respite, night, live-in and holiday care, and is supporting the Alzheimer’s Society’s Dementia Friends initiative.

Liz Walker, director of care at Caring Hands, said: “We are committed to supporting the Alzheimer’s Society campaign, and as an employer in the care sector we believe we should be doing everything we can.

“Our employees are committed to this, and we have those who are already Dementia Friends and others who are signing up to it.”

Launched in February, more than 100,000 people have become Dementia Friends through face-to-face information sessions and 400,000 have pledged to sign up through businesses.
